František Blaha: A young talent aiming for the world's top shooters
František Blaha, a 15-year-old shooter from Žilina, has quickly become one of the best juniors in IPSC shooting. After his victory at the PZT Winter Match 2023 and several other successes, he is now preparing for the World Rifle and Pistol Championships in 2025.
František Blaha is a young and ambitious shooter from Žilina, who is only 15 years old, but is already achieving remarkable results. As a student at the Varšavská cesta 1 eight-year grammar school, he decided to devote himself to dynamic sports shooting according to IPSC rules. He gained his first experience in this sport in 2023, when he started shooting with a .22 LR pistol. His passion and enthusiasm quickly took him to the next level, and that same year he switched to a 9 mm Luger pistol.
František's journey to success began with his victory in the Junior category at the PZT Winter Match 2023, where he took an excellent 3rd place overall. Since then, his career has been gaining momentum. In 2024, he also began preparing for the PCC discipline, which motivated him to meet the nomination criteria for participation in the World Carbine Championship, which will take place in May 2025 in the Czech Republic, and the World Pistol Championship in South Africa in September 2025.
With his membership in the Junior Top Team, František has proven that he belongs to the elite of young shooters. Among his greatest achievements last year are second place at the 15th BATHORY CUP 2024 (PCC, Junior) and third places at prestigious competitions such as the 27th MOSQUITO MATCH, REBELS TROPHY and EXTREME EURO OPEN.
The year 2025 will be crucial for František. In addition to intensive shooting and physical training, he aims to participate in as many competitions as possible in order to gain valuable experience and reach his peak at the world championships. His determination and passion promise a great future not only in the upcoming races, but also at the 2026 European Championships in Hungary.
